This afternoon I leave my extended stay hotel to move into a hotel in downtown Las Vegas. I plan to join up with many of my best friends who I have met via the news group rec.gambling and its spin off rec.gambling.poker (RGP). Finally it is time for me to participate at Barge (Big August Rec Gambling Excursion). But this year I am not getting in a plane to journey to this get together. Rather I am just getting into my car and driving downtown ;')

Barge is the big grand daddy of all the RGP weekends. It is a magical time where I get to mingle, play, and talk poker with so many great people I have met over the years being associated with the RGP community. Some of the people who come to Barge I only see once a year. I will spend the next several days (this afternoon thru Sunday) talking and playing poker with lots of really fun people. Thus don't expect to see me on-line here in LJ until next week as "Barge awaits!"

Next week I hope to have some fun stories surrounding my Barge weekend...
